The Houston Polonia Memorial – April 27, 2014

On Sunday, April 27, 2014 Pope Francis will canonize Pope John XXII and Pope John Paul II.
The same day,  archbishop-emeritus of Galveston-Houston, Joseph Fiorenza, will dedicate a monument to the new saint, who stands before the entrance to our church.

The statue of John Paul II has already been mounted.

Dear Friend, Today we start our progressive fundraiser to build the Houston Polonia Memorial at Our Lady of Czestochowa Church. Our goal is to make this John Paul II Plaza as beautiful as our Church and Parish Hall are. We invite you to join us in building this monument, which we expect to cost about $100,000, and ask for your participation in this crowning project. For each contribution a personalized paver (cegiełka) with your name engraved on it will be placed in a pavement surrounding the statue of Blessed John Paul II, a focal point of the Plaza. All donations are tax deductible and we appreciate your generosity.

The installation of the statue is planned on April 27, 2014, the day of John Paul II canonization. Please join us in celebrating this historic moment of our Church, beginning with the 11:00am Sunday mass, celebrated by Archbishop Joseph Fiorenza, followed dedication and blessing of the John Paul II statue also by the Archbishop.

God Bless you, The Organizing Committee
