Kosciuszko Foundation Piano Concert

The Texas Chapter of the Kosciuszko Foundation cordially invites you to a piano concert featuring 2010 Kosciuszko Foundation National Piano Competition Laureate Ms. Rexa Han.
The concert will take place  at the University of Houston, Moores Opera House
on Friday, February 17, 2012, 7:30pm.

Rexa Han was born in Dalian, China. As a child prodigy she made her hometown debut at the age of five. During her teenage years she won important national competitions and played throughout China to enormous acclaim. She attended the Central Conservatory in Beijing and came to the United States with full scholarship and stipend to the Manhattan School of Music where she studied with Solomon Mikowsky. She graduated with the highest honors, wining the President’s Award, as well as the coveted Munz Scholarship. As a concert pianist she made her debut at Carnegie Hall, and recently played the Grace Rainey Rogers Auditorium at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. In July 2011, she performed the music of Liszt for his 200th anniversary at the prestigious International Keyboard Institute and Festival in New York. She has performed in concert in Europe, Asia, and North America. Ms. Han has also appeared frequently on radio stations such as WWFM.org and WFMT.com in Chicago, and on Chinese Television. In 2011, Rexa Han won first prize in the 62nd Kosciuszko Chopin Competition in New York City. Her CD, “A Tribute To The Piano” will be released in early 2012. Rexa Han continues her studies with the celebrated teacher David Dubal. She lives in New York City.
