Congratulations to Polish Houston Marathon participants!

Congratulations to Polish Houston Chevron  Marathon and Half-Marathon runners!  Two of them traveled from Poland:

Agnieszka Gortel-Maciuk – Chorzów, Polish long-distance runner, four times Polish champion at half marathon.

Artur Kozłowski – Wroclaw, Polish IT specialist and athlete holding several Polish records.

Houston Chronicle:

Artur Kozlowski’s fifth-place finish was far better than he had a right to expect given the deep field of Ethiopian runners, but the slower-than-expected pace kept him from running fast enough to beat the sub-2:11 standard set by Poland’s Olympic Committee for him to clinch a spot on his country’s team for the Games this summer in Rio de Janeiro. But Kozlowski said he thinks he was strong enough in Houston, posting a 2:14:11, to make it to Brazil. He’ll have another chance this spring in the Polish championships.
