It is with great sadness that the family of Antonina Mazewski (Mikulicz) announces her passing, on Saturday, July 23rd, 2016, at the age of 82. Antonina will be forever remembered by her lovingly husband Adam Zbysko Mazewski of 57 years.

Preceded by her mother Leonarda Szykowiecz, father Waclaw Mikulicz, her brothers Czeslaw and Stanislaw Mikulicz. Survived by her daughter Jolanta Antonina Mazewski and husband Thomas Curtis Dryden; her son Richard Zbysko and wife Susan Solomon Mazewski; grandchildren Thaddeus Alexander Curtis, Shaun Austin Caswell, and Erica Alexis Cassandra Dryden, Richard Adam Mazewski, his wife Jocelyn Mazewski, Nichole Maerz, Christen and Dusty Nations; great grand children Kaitlyn Maerz; Karson, Jayden and Aubrey Nations. Brother Janek and wife Renata Mikulicz; sister Wieslaw, husband Edek Obłoj and sister Irena Mikulicz.

Born in Wilno, Poland the oldest of seven children. She survived World War II, graduated from a University in Poznań, Poland with a Masters in Economics, spoke seven languages, and immigrated to Houston, Texas. She was active in the Polish community for over six decades, and created the Polish Eagle Dance group that performed for over three decades. She received many awards and accolades, including the Silver Cross Medal for Merit of Culture, awarded by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage of the Republic of Poland.

Known as “Babcia,” “Bobby,” Pani Mazewska, or Tosia she loved to sew, cook, bake, entertain, dance, smile, and enjoyed a likely conversation. She always made sure Polish traditions were kept alive.

Visitation and Rosary will be held on Friday, July 29th from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM at Woodlawn Funeral Home & Cemetery, 1101 Antoine Dr, Houston, Texas. 77055. Church services will be held at 9:00 AM, with viewing beginning at 8:00 AM on Saturday July 30th at Our Lady of Czestochowa Roman Catholic Church, 1731 Blalock Rd, Houston, TX 77080, followed by a grave site service at Woodlawn Cemetery.
