Dominika Dancewicz and Axiom Quartet

Axiom Quartet invites to the concert entitled “War and Peace”.  The performance is on Sunday, October 23 at 7.30PM at the University of St.Thomas Cullen Hall.

We have been long pondering the possibility of using some of the most powerful and moving pieces of music we know to show the story of the conflict, the anguish and damage it can cause, and the struggle of those who try to resolve it and bring peace. We think that putting together music by Soviet composer Dmitri Shostakovich along with works by Maurice Ravel and Joseph Haydn ( the connection to the “War and Peace” theme is there, don’t you doubt it!) will create a strong, although not obvious story line. To top it off we will perform two pieces rarely heard at string quartet concerts by The Cranberries and John Lennon, loaded with meaning strong enough to kick you out of your seat.

The Axiom Quartet’s “War and Peace” concert is free of charge and open to the public. We hope to see you there, along with many of your friends.
