International Voices of Houston Virtual Performance

So many of us miss concerts, theater and individual performances – the shows that had to be canceled this year. Among events Houston Polonia enjoyed were International Voices of Houston Choir concerts.

We are glad to share we can enjoy Choir’s first virtual performance, “Dona Nobis Pacem”.

From Mark Vogel, Artistic Director

Hello Friends of International Voices Houston,

We hope this finds you safe and well during this difficult time. Normally, our choir would be busily preparing an exciting program of music, anticipating performance day when we could join together on stage and perform our hearts out for you. Although this isn’t possible at this time, nothing can stop this choir from creating gorgeous music and inspiring the world. Our singers’ resilience is shining through, as we continue to make music together…virtually.
Today, International Voices Houston celebrates International Day of Peace, Sept. 21, with our first virtual choir performance! “Dona Nobis Pacem” is a traditional melody of peace, sung in Latin. And we’ve put an International spin on it, by incorporating three additional languages: French, Hindi and Mandarin. Voices from different cultures making beautiful music together truly reflects our mission: “Creating global harmony by celebrating and giving voice to human difference.” We hope this music brings inspiration, comfort and peace.

Additionally, the choir is busy working on several other creative virtual choir projects, which we look forward to releasing later this fall as part of a special Virtual Concert. Stay tuned for more details about this exciting event!

Thank you for staying engaged with us during this difficult time. Your support and generosity encourages us to venture forward into exciting new ways of sharing our message of global harmony and peace. And we hope that our music has been a source of comfort and healing.

In gratitude,
Mark Vogel
