Polish Film Festival in Houston


PolStage Productions has brought to Houston the 2nd Annual Polish Film Festival Nine feature films and one documentary film have been presented during four days of the festival. All films screened were in Polish with English subtitles. Two film directors Maciej Dejczer and Radoslaw Piwowarski appeared in person to introduce their films.

Piano and violin mini-recital of Polish classical music have opened each evening of the festival. The collection of Polish film posters has been displayed at the Angelika Film Center during the festival. Anya Tish Gallery located at 1740 Sunset Blvd. in Houston, cosponsor of the Festival has hosted an Exhibition of Polish Painting, featuring selected works by Henryk Musialowicz, Michal Herman and Janusz Chodorowicz (October 23 - November 16, 1998).

The festival has sparked an interest among the cinema enthusiasts of the Houston's multicultural community. We are proud to present the art of polish filmmaking to Houston, an art form, which has a rich tradition in modern Polish culture.
