Dr.Agnes
Guthrie created an award for new young doctors she is helping
train in the basics of radiology: it is called the
FluBaG,
which stands for Fluoroscopy, Barium and Guthrie. Also, Barium is stored in jugs and bags… It’s important to reward these basics skills, which help evaluate gastrointestinal as well as urinary problems of children and adults. These skills are needed but are somewhat old fashioned (comparing to CAT scans and MRIs, for instance) and not very lucrative. They are in danger of becoming the orphan children of radiology and medicine. Dr. Guthrie's program helps to reward the best and the brightest of the young doctors as they acquire these important skills. At this time of the year, sharing and helping becomes part of our holidays preparations. Dr. Guthrie is asking to consider supporting her program by making a donation to: UT Diagnostic and Interventional Imaging, Project 001901, or just FluBaG. UT Diagnostic & Interventional Imaging, University of Texas Medical School in Houston, attn. Mary Ann Henderson, 6431 Fannin, suite 2,130 B, Houston, TX. 77030-1503 With your help, the fund will hopefully grow and live forever! |
