The skies are blue, no clouds- no rain!
In scorching heat, corn fields are dead drying
Cattle are seeking drop of water - in vain
And hundreds of people - are dying!

This Land of Bluebonnets - bone dry of thirst
The skies are still blue - yet bluebonnets - gone
And hellish heat, engulfs the whole land
In Texas - drought is still going on!

Oh Lord, don't let us down - to perish
Please, save bluebonnets, and cattle, and people
Let the old man's, left over, rest of life, still cherish
Send rain and cool our land just a little...
